TORI HAYSOM

What unites a love of science, food and people? Studying and forging a career in wine. Tori explains her journey.

'The New Zealand School of Food and Wine really helped me explore my options in the food and wine sector. I enrolled in the Certificate in Cookery and this included the NZ Certificate in Wine and WSET level 1 which actually changed my direction towards the wine industry but also gave me an incredible appreciation of the skill and art of cheffing. This has given me a well-rounded head start in the industry'

'WSET level 2 and 3 gave me knowledge and confidence to advocate for myself in the wine industry, with the support from Celia through being an alumnae’

I am now an account manager for a wine distributor and previously worked as a wine retail manager, including being a staff wine educator and trainer. There are many other directions you can go in with this sector once you have some knowledge behind you.
