Wine & Food Celebration 2018

The planning for the 2018 Wine and Food Celebration is gathering pace and taking place over the weekend of August 18 - 20.

Over three days, this event brings together practical cookery classes, innovative demonstrationswine tastingmasterclasses and celebration dinners.

SATURDAY AUGUST 18 

Foodography Dinner

Run with great success for the first time in 2017, this event teaches you the principles of constructing and photographing spectacular food imagery on your phone followed by eating your delicious six-course meal.

  • 4pm - 9pm
  • Evening includes technique seminar, practical sessions, all meal ingredients and beverages
  • $160 for two people

SUNDAY AUGUST 19 

Wine Room

Combine fascinating cookery demonstrations with the opportunity to taste a wide range of New Zealand and International wines.

News WF2Each of our 45-minute demonstrations will cover current kitchen innovations and trends, and will inspire your own culinary adventures.

Join leading New Zealand wineries plus importers of wine from around the world who will provide a selection of exciting wines to sample, which are available for purchase in our retail store.

Completing your admission is a range of complimentary gourmet nibbles and snacks served throughout the session

New Zealand Sommelier and Junior Sommelier of the Year Competition

This competition recognises excellence in New Zealand and international wine knowledge for outstanding candidates working as a sommelier or senior manager in a hotel, lodge or restaurant.

News WF3In 2018, the winner will travel to international competitions in China and Japan.

This competition will be taking place throughout the day on Sunday, with the awards being held during dinner.

Each year we feature a new and interesting theme for our event dinner.

Again in 2018 we will be providing the opportunity for a small group of people to experience preparing a celebration dinner in a professional kitchen. Included in this ticket:

  • Admission to the wine tasting room and free wine and culinary masterclasses
