Our scholarship 2007 winner was Jonathan Jackson

Jonathan travelled from Katikati in the Bay of Plenty to take up his scholarship at the New Zealand School of Food and Wine (NZSFW). He is a natural for this industry and enjoys the restaurant service side as much as the food.

“I loved my time in the kitchen at Hay’s doing work experience and seeing how everything was made and produced. I now want to go and study advanced wine service so that I can be a sommelier, as well as more cooking so that I can really be confident in the café or restaurant kitchen."

“New Zealand School of Food and Wine was a long way to come but it has proved to be exactly the sort of environment that suits me. Small classes, positive tutors and the other students are lots of fun", comments Jonathan.

“I was delighted to win the hospitality scholarship offered by New Zealand School of Food and Wine. This has provided me with a great start and I am grateful for this opportunity."
