NZSFW Certificate in Wine

Introduction

This popular two week introductory course offers the enthusiastic amateur the opportunity to study about wine, viticulture, wine making, tasting and matching food.

The course will focus on the main wine varietals grown in New Zealand and the styles of wine that have built their reputations. You will look at the European traditions that have influenced New Zealand winemaking as well as the winemaking process. You will learn how to taste and evaluate wines and the principles that underscore food and wine matching. A day trip to visit a local winery is included in the course.

Entry Requirements

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Upper intermediate level of English

You may continue with NZSFW to study for the WSET® Intermediate qualification by joining the two week course.
